Midsummer Madness – curated and produced by 2021 1835 Intern Team

1835 Art Gallery Show – “Midsummer Madness” - Opening Night this Thursday, June 3 rd at 6-

10pm!

Midsummer Madness, is an art exhibition centered around the beautiful and the deadly; a

precocious and cinematically inspired ode to the recent real world implications of existing with

the hopes of finding solace outside—even if it’s not guaranteed.

Whether it be a pandemic, racial inequity, gun violence, or a classist government solely

concerned with appearance and profit over the well being of its collective; all of us are subjected

to the madness of the outside world. All of us are vulnerable in the face of uncertainty. And we

acknowledge that it takes great courage to create something beautiful in the midst of this jarring

reminder. However terrifying, uncertainty itself is perhaps the most persistent natural occurrence

that we can acknowledge; making it beautiful and necessary, chaotic yet crucial, and

magical yet maddening.

Midsummer Madness Art Show was curated and produced solely by the extraordinary team of

1835 Interns we had onboard from Nov 2020 - June 2021:
